A similar format that supported compression of floppy disk images is called DART. Apple disk image files are published with a MIME type of application/x-apple-diskimage.

Different file systems can be contained inside these disk images, and there is also support for creating hybrid optical media images that contain multiple file systems. Some of the file systems supported include Hierarchical File System (HFS), HFS Plus, File Allocation Table (FAT), ISO9660 and Universal Disk Format (UDF).

I am wanting to print coupons from Target's website, but they have done a poor job of supporting us Mac users. I even downloaded Firefox, as it stated that they supported Firefox 3.x for Mac; well, they don't.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same problem and have searched relentlessly for a solution. When I try to print I get the following message:
Unfortunately, you’re trying to print to a device that is not valid for printing coupons. Please check your print setting to make sure your default printer is a standard printer and has paper. If you have a multifunction printer (fax, copy, print), please make sure that “Printer” is set as the default function on your computer.
Click the Try Again button after you’ve selected a new printer and make sure you have paper.
The first time I tried to print from the site it required that I download an applet, which I did. It's called MacCouponPrinter.dmg. I can print from other coupon sites but not Target's.
It's apparently a HUGE problem with couponers as I read probably 50 posts on various website, some of which offer solutions, but none of which have worked for me or any others as far as I can tell from the posts.
If anyone has suggestions, please chime in. Also, one more thing.. It seems that the Target coupons page somehow accesses my printer directly without allowing me to go through the print dialog box to change any settings. Don't know if that's a helpful fact, but..

  As you can see in my profile section, my MBP is older by 5 years, 2GB RAM and with regards to question 1 (Q1), has no problems with having all those programs open at the same time with the possible exception of Photoshop since I use Gimp instead. With twice the RAM and much overall much better specs, Photoshop shouldn't be an issue. But you listed some other activities that might need that additional RAM. But the advise most give is to not get it from Apple but from a third party.
  Q5 - I always get Apple Care. Only had to use it once but it paid for itself that one time.
  Sorry, can't help you much with the questions you really want answered since I won't have a new MBP until (hopefully) next week but for Q4, I believe it depends on the peripheral. My current monitors are too old to allow them to be hooked up in a chain. Supposedly, if the monitors do have the ports, you could via the MBP Thunderbolt port. The speeds are also dependent upon the peripheral. If the external hard drive is using a USB 2 port, you are limited by that speed (480 Mb/s). If it has a Thunderbolt port, then from what I understand, we, my friend, are in for some great times because I believe your RAM will have the ability to access data as fast as it can take it at 10Gb/s (and if will need those kinds of speeds, the 8GB of RAM may be the way to go). The Thunderbolt demos on YouTube where they are accessing four video files from a Raid drive, then sending them back out via Final Cut Pro to a monitor are amazing. I'll probably never push this machine to anywhere near it's limits but I can't wait to see what others do.

  Connect the phone by USB to the computer, import with image capture, iPhoto or whatever application you use to import movies, drop it into iTunes.

  Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see 'Report a Problem' next to the entry, click the 'Report a problem' button. Now click the 'Report a Problem' link next to the item.

  I got the same error and can't get it to work.   If you do not have, or remember, the passcode for Restrictions, the only option available to you is to reset the device to factory settings via itunes.

• Any suggestions on how to remove an 'aura' from around a selection in an image? I shoot pictures at rodeos. To make the rider stand out, I create a mask around the rider and then blur the background with Gaussian Blur. This results in a noticeable blur around the outside of the selection. I have tried using Feathering as well as other Refine Edge Tools. The only thing that works is to go around the edge with the Clone Tool. This is time consuming and not totally successful. So, my two big questions are: (1) Is there a better (simpler) way to avoid the aura? and (2) If not, is there a way to remove the aura that is simpler??

  Two ways:
  1. File -> Export. Set the Kind to Jpeg or Tiff
  Check the boxes at 'Location Information' and 'Titles and Keyword'
  The information is written to the iptc and Exif metadata on the file.
  2. Use iPhoto Library Manager This will get all of the information plus faces and edit history

  Contact iCloud support. Apple's spam filters may have detected spam coming from users on that domain and blocked all email from it.

  Launch iTunes, go to the Preferences, select Devices, and hover your cursor over the backup file for the iPod. That should show you the serial number, IMEI, and possibly the MEID.
  The manufacturer ID will not help you locate the iPad, though. If you set up the Find My iPad service in the Settings prior to the iPad going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPad is turned on, connected to a WiFi or 3G network, and has not had the Find My iPad service disabled or the iPad been completely restored).
  If you did not set up Find My iPad, then there is no way to track it. Contact the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPad (the iTunes Store, for instance).
